Online Lesson Equipment

An Example of an Ideal Online Set-Up

Ethernet Cable - to connect your device directly to your router
A fast computer with high processing power and high amount of RAM. (iPad can work but you will need all of the adapters to connect via ethernet to your broadband router)
An adapter to connect your computer via ethernet to your broadband router, in case you don't have an ethernet port build into your device.
A fast audio interface. e.g. Audient id14. To connect your microphone to your computer and process your audio for online transmission quickly.
A high quality omnidirectional condenser microphone with a flat frequency response. A research microphone is ideal. e.g. Earthworks Audio M23, Synco D2. You need a microphone that will accurately represent your voice, not one that will change the signal.
High Quality XLR Cable to connect your microphone to your audio interface
Wired Open Back Headphones e.g. beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Studio Headphones. To connect to your audio interface, these should be worn by both teacher and student.
A high speed internet connection. Ideally Fibre broadband with a high upload and download speed.
A high speed router or a wifi router with ethernet connections.
A strong and sturdy microphone stand. A boom stand with an adjustable arm gives the greatest flexibility.
Powered USB-Hub - if your device does not have a USB port, you will need one for your audio interface
A USB multi adapter or powered USB hub can have both USB, ethernet and HDMI to connect to another monitor.

Software

Zoom for the video link with the audio muted.
Cleanfeed for a high quality sound connection. Cleanfeed only works with the Google Chrome browser.
